Paper Cowgirl Highlights

Paper Cowgirl started off with a meet and greet at the Dove's Nest in Waxahachie on Wednesday night at 6:00pm. We had some wonderful tasty food and we celebrated Cindy's (organizer) birthday with a cake and a card. I think we surprised her! It was fun and the teachers got to meet their students and get reacquainted with old friends. We had a great discussion about Pinterest. Very insightful.

Classes started Thursday morning bright and early! I taught a wool felt crown class and had a lot of fun. My students were very creative! Loved the ideas they came up with for decorating their crowns. I wish I remembered who all the crowns belonged to, so I could label them on these photos.

Class I Took

I will post more photos of Paper Cowgirl later but these are photos of what I made in the class I took while there. It was Sandra Feazel's class. Really had fun working with wax and lucious fabrics! The little photos are on cut up book covers. What a great idea! Dipped in the wax or paint it on the wax and add acrylic paint. I stamped in the wax while it was warm and it left a texture. So cool! Sandra's samples were small to be used as necklaces but I thought why not make them bigger and they can be used on a canvas or hung on these cute hangers.

I decided to use what I learned in the class for my swap project for one of my art group meetings. This is what I cane up with. The theme is white, so I used shades of the color and added a little brown in to go with the photo. Which by the way is a photo of one of my Grandfathers with his brothers.

This is me and Amy Boland. When I was introduced to her I kept thinking "where do I know that name from?" Then later someone ask me what the photographers name was from San Antonio, and it hit me! Art & Stuff

I have been having so much fun with the Donna Downey  canvas a month class. This is my creation for February. I used modeling paste to embed the ledger paper heart on the canvas. The Golden fluid acrylics are such bright colors! Love them!

I have been taking a Terri Brush soldering class online and this box is one of the things I actually did. Well I needed a birthday gift for a friend so I thought this would be the perfect thing for her. It was a fun project. Although I was to chicken to solder the rhinestones on, so I glued them. Didn't want to take a chance and the glass crack after I had done all the work!! LOL

This is another project I did from the class. These are not that easy to wrap the tape around but boy do they make a statement when soldered.
