31 Wishes

I had the joy of attending 31 Wishes yesterday. It was done by Ann Denise Anderson http://whimandfancydesigns.blogspot.com/ at her home in Ft. Worth, TX. She really knows how to decorate!! The whole house was done up in Halloween fashion! So much food and snacks to eat! We did not go hungry for sure!

This was the front of the house. Scary large spiders crawling around!!
This is looking back to the front door inside the entry way of the house.
This is looking down the entry way into the house. Look at the skeletons sitting on the bench in the hall. Cute!!

The scene under the glass dome had lights.
This is the room to the left of the front door. It was set up a a vendor area. There were all kinds of things for sale. Ribbon, sheet music, doll patterns, ephemera.
Love this case on top of the piano. The little figures siting on the piano were for sale but I am not sure who made them. They were cute though.
This is some decorations sitting on a table behind the couch in the den.
Love this display on the mirror in the den!
Good use of the witches hat!

Anne Denise had several of these kinds of skeletons around.
This was the candy bar set up in the kitchen. Lots to choose from! I ate way to much through out the day!
I wanted to take one of these Carmel apples home to eat later, but forgot!
Kitchen all decorated for dinner. The glasses on the bar were mason jars and she painted designs on them in orange and black paint. They are washer safe. Cool idea!
This was on the buffet table.
Dinner is served! YUM!!

We had three projects and it took all day to get them all done. I put the finishing touches on a few when I got home. It was a great day! I am so glad I got to go!

Skeleton ornament. Can hang on a door knob or where ever.
Dolls we made. Mine is the one on the left. My friends Mary did the center one and Mel's is the one on the right. They were fun to make. We sculpted the faces with paper clay. The bodies were already sewn for us. We had to make the clothes too.
This another project we did. Collage on a book. Really fun! Never thought about using a paperback book for a canvas. I won the pumpkin for mine! I definitely will save the stem to make a velvet pumpkin. They are so popular now!
I won a raffle prize too! Phyllis Ann Shows http://phyllisanns.blogspot.com/ made this domino necklace. Happy to get it!
These were some of Ann Denise's samples of her dolls.

This was my name tag. Lots of work went into it!

This was the room upstairs where we did the projects.
Here is Mel! Love the banners hanging from the ceiling!
This was the cabinet where supplies were. Lots of ribbon to choose from for our projects!

It was a great experience! Ann Denise really knows how to throw an event!!

Headboard Finished

Remember this? I bought this fireplace mantel last year to re-finish as a headboard.

I finally finished it this weekend! I used white chalk paint then waxed it with the clear wax. I sanded the edges to give it a distressed look.

Mixed Media Necklace

Mary's necklace

Last month at one of my art group meetings we made these cool mixed media necklaces. The meeting was at Mary's house and she fixed a great lunch of taco potatoes with salad. YUM YUM!! She did a wonderful job of kitting a bag for everyone. I wished I had taken a photo of the cute bag but I didn't. She made the numbers from shrink plastic and most of the rest of the items were from the Tim Holtz line of Ideaology products. It was a fun project for sure!

Field of Sunflowers

I was on my way to a class at Crafty Scrapper yesterday and saw this beautiful field of sunflowers off Interstate 35. I have never seen this here. It was so pretty I had to stop on my way home and get some photos. Some of the heads of the flowers were bigger than a dinner plate. Incredible!!

Happy Mother's Day

My big boy Blair

My little boy Duke

Alan & I
We went to La Hacienda Ranch restaurant for lunch today. My favorite food, Mexican! This bear was in the entryway so I had to get a picture with him. He was really big! His sign said "welcome to the ranch". Had a great Mother's Day! Got flowers and a new purse!

May Mouse Card

This is the final card I will be doing for House Mouse. Hobby Lobby has cancelled the Stamp of the Month program for House Mouse. Sorry to see this program go but all things change at some point. I have enjoyed my experience with Crafts Etc (Hobby Lobby). They are a great bunch of people to work for. Very professional and generous. I have enjoyed these past several years immensely.

Arty Wooden Birds

I actually had some time this past weekend to make a few birthday gifts for some friends. Two people in one of my art groups had shown the birds they had made and I just loved them! So off to Michael's I went to buy raw wooden birds. I already had enough jewels to add to the birds, it was just hard to decide what to use. But in the end I didn't think they needed a lot of embellishment. They were fun to create!

Wedding Of Heather & Josh

In February one of my good friend's daughter was married. I helped out with the wedding as much as I could. Making some of the corsages, helping with setting up the alter, as well as getting everyone down the isle on the big evening and making sure everything went off without a hitch at the reception. There were a few hiccups but the bride and groom never knew a thing and all was well in the end. Below are a few pictures a wonderful friend of the bride's family took. Enjoy!
