House Mouse Cards

I started doing cards last year for the company that makes the House Mouse stamps. I put together 95 cards each month for them. Above is the first card I came up with for January 2010. It is a lot of fun but takes me about a week to get them all done. I can color copy the mouse part. So I do not have to color 95 stamped images. That helps! I have been using colored pencils or copic markers to add the color.

This is February's card.

This is for March. Aren't they so cute?!!!

I just finished this one a week or so ago. It is for April. Next months is another flower one and I will post it when I get it done.

Art Group Meeting

I hosted a meeting yesterday at my home for my art group. I know it is after Valentines but I kinda had a Valentine theme. Look at these cupcakes! They were YUM YUM!! The little pennant picks are from House of 3 http://houseof3.com. My sweet friend Mary let me borrow her cupcake stand and she made the picks for me.
Speaking of House of 3...they have some fabulous downloadable products to pick from. If you do not work digitally it's no problem. There are lots of printables you can use. Just print, cut out and decorate however you wish. Easy peasy! This is banner I printed out from them and decorated.

This banner is made from foam hearts I got at Michaels. Add some doilies and glitter letters and you have a masterpiece.

These spinner cards are from House of 3 also. Really fun to put together.

Our project for the meeting was a small easel and canvas. The inspiration for this project was the larger canvas in the photo that I got at Target. I found the smaller easel and canvases at Joanne Fabrics. The very small cherry canvas was done my friend Cindy. She sells her items at The Dove's Nest in Waxahachie, TX http://thedovesnestrestaurant.com/index.html. That is a great store and you should go check it out.
I received some wonderful hostess gifts. Check out this HUGH lollie! My friend Traci made it. She is a House of 3 convert too. Go to Rhonna Farrer's blog http://rhonnadesigns.blogspot.com/ to see a video on how to make the lollies. They are so fun!

Another friend, Jeanne made these beautiful organza flowers. There is a pin back on it so I added it to my purse. These are going to be featured with soldering in a future class at The Stamp Asylum so stay tuned for more info on that in a later post. I am working out the details now for the class. Jeanne was wonderful and gave me permission to use her idea.

The theme of the swap was red and it was a great one! I got lots of flowers!! I love them!

First Snow Day 2010

We woke up to a beautiful site this morning! SNOW! It has kept coming down all day. This is some great stuff for making a snowman. Dallas doesn't get snow like this very often. My cat wasn't sure he wanted to go outside.

Duke was trying to figure out what all this white stuff was. He really didn't like getting his feet stuck in it.

From our road looking down the area behind the house. It is snowing so much you can't really see the lake on the left. This is from this afternoon when I got home from work.

There is a lake out there. These photos were in color but look like they were taken in black and white.

This is from this morning before I left for work. You can see the water here. I got to Plano and the flakes were so big! I actually had some customers come in the store. The roads were not bad this morning but this afternoon coming home they had a lot of slush on them. Tomorrow morning will be really bad. The temps are suppose to be in the 20's tonight. Everything will freeze! I am sure I will be staying home.

My road this afternoon.

Out the back sliding glass door it is such a pretty site! Love the snow but hate the ice.

Valentine Art at Stamp Asylum

These ornaments would be the perfect gift for that special person in your life. Pick one with their initial and they can display it all year long.
Come by the store to purchase one. Stamp Asylum 2001 Coit Road STE 165, Plano, TX 75075, 972 596-1224
Fill a glass vase with branches then string pom pom ribbon through the branches. Die cut hearts from a hymnal and sprinkle German glass glitter on the edges of each one. Hang them from the branches for a sweet and simple decoration.
This idea would be great for other holidays. Just change the colors and theme to suit the occasion.

Solder Art Pendants For Sale

I worked last week some solder pendant necklaces to sale at Stamp Asylum. Finally got them finished for the most part. Still have several more to do. Made Valentine ones as well as other styles. If your in the area come by to take a look at them or email me for pricing if your interested in purchasing.

This ACT stand by 7 Gypsy's works great for displaying all the necklaces. I added the bird at the top that I found at Hobby Lobby.
